Although foodies flock to the Waddington Amrs to indulge in local speciality dishes such as salt and pepper cod cheeks with mango, pineapple and chilli salsa, or the more traditional Lancashire hot pot, you will also find friendly locals relaxing in the beer garden with their favourite tipple.

Six rustic-chic bedrooms let you slope off to a snug bed to sleep off the food and drink, so you can linger longer in this pretty village. If you’re not busy exploring the fabulous walks in the Ribble Valley, there are plenty of things happening at the pub, from summer barbecues and games in the garden, to live music events.

The Waddington Arms also invites children to enjoy the outdoor play area, while you can unwind indoors in a squishy armchair as your dog snoozes in front of the toasty fire.

The local area

Nestled in the little village of Waddington, The Waddington Arms is fringed by the incredibly picturesque and striking scenery of the Ribble Valley, where you are greeted by countless walking trails and fabulous wildlife. Uncover the haunting history of the famous Pendle witch trials, or don your walking boots and hike up Pendle Hill, located just half an hour from The Waddington Arms. You’ll also find a farmhouse and museum, tea room, art gallery and restored 18th century walled garden at Pendle Heritage Centre. Clitheroe is a vibrant market town filled with independent shops, cafes and, of the course, the medieval castle and gallery, and being a five minute drive away from the pub, it’s a great place to visit.
