The bar is a lively hub at The George and is a must-visit watering hole. Its laid-back atmosphere and flop-into sofas and armchairs make you feel at home and lure you into lingering a little while longer.

There are several spaces for relaxing – step into the Parlour and nibble on delicious treats or let the chef rustle you up something special in the Garden Room. When the weather’s fine, we can’t get enough of the outdoor terrace for a spot of al fresco dining. The food at The George is on everyone’s lips, with steaks that make your mouth water and sharing boards that you just won’t want to share!

There are 15 beautiful rooms to choose from and while they’re dressed in contemporary furnishings, they remain sympathetic to the 18^th century building. Pops of colour mingle with antique furniture, exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings, wood panelled walls and sash windows – a combination that you can’t help but fall in love with. Oh, and don’t forget the retro touches with the rotary dial telephones, too.

There’s something relaxing about the soft shades of blue and grey in the bedrooms that make you want to snooze, that’s if you can resist a long soak in the rolltop bath. You’ll even find an in-room bath in some of the bedrooms.
