Originally built as a farmhouse in the 1600’s, The Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme, is the perfect setting for a traditional inn with rooms, and it oozes atmsophere. Complete with a fantastic handmade oak play house in the beer garden, it’s a real family-friendly treat too. The local area

Lancashire is known for its glorious countryside - and the area surrounding the historic village of Dolphinholme does not disappoint. Located on the brink of the Forest of Bowland - an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty - you'll discover wonderful walks. Try The Sculpture Trail, wander around the Black Moss Reservoir, or take the steep incline through Aitken Wood for some wonderful views at the top. Explore open moorland and picturesque villages such as Downham and Slaidburn, visit Clitheroe Castle and Museum, then take a walk in the famous footsteps of J.R.R. Tolkien along the Ribble Valley - said to have inspired The Lord of The Rings. Just 20 minutes from the coast and near the River Wyre, you may want to take a refreshing dip. And if you fancy a little history, there's always the stunning Lancaster Castle, showcasing a real glimpse into England's past.
