The local area

Long Compton is an idyllic village on the brink of the Cotswolds and is steeped in history and ancient tales of witches. Rollright Stones, a prehistoric stone circle, is only a mile from the inn and definitely worth a visit. Just a short drive from The Red Lion Inn is the hamlet of Stourton, home to the magnificent Stourton Castle and the Cotswolds Distillery (for those who can’t resist a tipple). Moreton-in-Marsh is another wonderful place to visit when staying at The Red Lion and has countless attractions, including the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Chastleton House and Garden, and Batsford Arboretum.
